Earth has been around for billions of years and is constanly changing. Its very unique climate makes it possible to maintain life. Even from the begining of time people have had an interest about all of the mysteries it has. Because of these peoples fasinations with our glorious planet we know as much as we do now.
Earth is a medium sized star and is about half way through its life cycle. Over time our planet will began to die out, but that wont be anytime soon. We are the third planet from the Sun, which makes us a rocky planet. even though we arent the biggest planet in the solar system we still have an every strong gravitational pull. A gravitaional pull is the amount of mass we can pull because of our own mass. With our mass we pull the moon along with us.
The moon is hundreds of miles away from Earth and takes months to reach by space craft, but we have reached it and claimed it as ours. From planet Earth we only see one side of th emoon. This might come to you as a shock but its true. Our rotation speed is much faster than the moons so we shall always see the same side.
Phases of the moon change on a day to day basis. Each phase is based on how much light is shown and on what side it is shown on. New Moon is the one phase that you can not see because it is black. This night the sky is completly black and nothing but stars are visable, along with the ocational plane.
